Order Processing & Shipping Policy
A general outline of how orders are handled, how parcels are sent out, and what to expect along the way from checkout to doorstep.
Handling Orders With Care
Getting an order out the door promptly is something taken seriously here. This page brings together the practical details in one place — processing windows, delivery regions, available shipping options, how costs are worked out, tracking behaviour, cross-border considerations, and what happens when a parcel goes astray. The wording is kept deliberately general so it can apply across different locations and order types.
Processing Window
Orders normally enter the processing queue within 1–3 business days after payment has been fully confirmed.
- Orders placed on a weekend or public holiday usually begin processing on the next working day.
- During major promotional periods and busy holiday stretches, processing and dispatch can take a little longer than usual. A short delay at these times is normal, and patience is genuinely appreciated.
Where Deliveries Are Available
Delivery is offered across the United States, together with a selected list of international destinations.
If a particular country does not appear as an option at checkout, a short message to support@hersheys.com is the quickest way to find out whether a workable delivery route exists.
Shipping Options & Estimated Timelines
All stated delivery windows are estimates counted from the day a parcel is dispatched, not from the day the order was placed. Weather events, carrier backlogs, and customs procedures on cross-border parcels can all affect actual arrival times.
Within the United States
- Standard shipping: approximately 5–10 business days
- Expedited shipping: approximately 2–5 business days
International Destinations
Estimated transit time: roughly 7–20 business days, depending on destination and service selected.
How Shipping Costs Are Calculated
Shipping charges are worked out automatically and shown clearly at checkout. Three factors feed into the figure:
- The full destination address
- The delivery service chosen
- The total weight and dimensions of the items ordered
Some orders may qualify for a free-shipping promotion. Any applicable discount is displayed on the checkout page before payment is confirmed, so the total is visible ahead of time.
Following a Shipment
When a parcel leaves the warehouse, a dispatch confirmation is sent to the email address on file, together with a tracking reference.
Tracking information usually takes 24–72 hours to sync fully with carrier systems. If the tracking page looks empty right after the confirmation arrives, it is worth checking again a little later.
Cross-Border Duties & Import Charges
For shipments delivered outside the United States, a few points are worth noting:
- Local customs authorities may apply duties, import taxes, clearance charges, or other administrative fees once a parcel arrives.
- These additional charges rest with the recipient and are not included in product pricing or base shipping fees.
Before placing an international order, it can help to check with the local customs office about applicable rules and expected charges.
Carriers Used
Established logistics partners with full tracking are used for both domestic and international deliveries:
- USPS: economical, dependable standard delivery within the United States
- UPS: quick and secure transport, well suited to expedited domestic shipments
- FedEx: end-to-end tracked delivery for both domestic and cross-border parcels
Address Details & Missed Deliveries
It is worth double-checking the delivery address before completing checkout. Once an order has been dispatched, address changes are generally not possible.
- Where a parcel comes back to the warehouse because the address was incomplete or inaccurate, a further delivery attempt usually involves an additional shipping fee.
- If a delivery attempt is missed, a notice is normally left at the address. The instructions on that notice explain how to arrange collection or a re-delivery.
Damaged or Lost Parcels
Packaging is checked before dispatch to reduce the chance of damage in transit. If a parcel does arrive damaged, or is confirmed lost on the way, a claim can be submitted within 7 calendar days of the expected delivery date.
To speed things along, have the order reference to hand and, where relevant, clear photographs of the damaged packaging or item. The aim is always to settle the matter quickly and sensibly.
Questions About an Order
Anything unclear about processing times, delivery estimates, tracking, cross-border rules, address corrections, or a lost or damaged parcel — a message is always welcome.
